Choosing the header image and arranging the page layout: At the header image selection section you can choose the border image which you would like to be displayed at the header of your CV web page. At the page layout section it is possible to choose the color of the background and the font type. You can select the image and the colors by clicking on them. In order to see what your choices look like, you can click on the button. While making the color choices, take care to match the color of the background with the color of the mid section.  In order to fill in the page title information that would appear at the left top corner of your browser, enter the information in the related field.  Once the title is added, your page will look like the sample shown below:  The color of the character fonts of the script on the web page must suit the design. For example, if you have chosen the mid section background dark, the font color of the characters, to be legible, must be in light colors like white or yellow. Similarly select the font type and proceed. 2. Entering the personal information: Not all the fields in this section need to be filled in. You can supply as much detail as you like to be seen in your CV for your personal information. 3. Entering the education information: In this section you can supply as much detail as you like to be seen in your CV for your educational background. Not all the fields in this section need to be filled in. If you have further educational background, and need more fields to fill out for your undergraduate and graduate studies you can click on the button and add new fields to fill out. 4. Entering the work experience: In this section you can supply as much detail as you like to be seen in your CV for your work experience. Not all the fields in this section need to be filled in. If you need more fields to fill out for your work experience click on the button to add more fields for more information to enter. 5. Entering additional information: In this section you can supply information about knowledge of foreign languages, computer usage, hobbies and professional references you would like to be seen in your CV. Not all fields need to be filled in. 6. Entering the contact information: In this section you can fill in contact information for relevant people to be able to get in touch with you. Not all fields need to be filled in. 7. The section to add an image: You can add only one image on the web page you have designed by using the web page design wizard. The width of the image to be added must be 125 pixels. Images that are larger or smaller are brought to that width automatically and of course the height also changes at the same ratio. If you face problems while trying to change the image, you can delete it and add again. When the button is clicked on, a small window will appear. When the button on that window is clicked on, you can access the folders on your computer from which you can select an image, click on the and then the buttons respectively.   If you are using "Firefox" or "Netscape" as a browser, it might not be possible to display the images and hence add to the web page. In order to make the necessary setting change in these browsers, in the address field of the browser write about:config and hit the enter key. From the list that comes up on the screen find the "security.checkloaduri" option and by double clicking on it, from the screen that appears, change the setting from true to false. The option setting after the change must be as shown below:  8. How to publish the designed web page on the Internet? Using the button, open up the latest version of your page on another browser window. Following the menu path ‘File’-- > ‘Save As’ of your browser, save the page on your computer.  When saving your page, you must change the name as index and the extension as .htm or .html. Furthermore you must take care to save the complete page including the pictures.  In this way, there will form an index.htm file and a folder named index_files, inside the folder you have saved your web page at. The images you have used at your web page will have been saved inside the index_files folder. In order to publish your web page, you have to upload, using FTP, the index.htm file and the index_files folder, where the images used in the file are kept, to your personal account, formatted as user_name@ metu.edu.tr, registered at the central servers.
