The Web Wizard which is available at http://wizard.metu.edu.tr consists of two sections:

• Designing a CV Web page
• Designing a Personal Web page

You must firstly decide on the type of the web page you are going to design. Once you have made up your mind, click on the arrow () below the screen. As indicated in the alert notes you must proceed by clicking the arrow buttons below the wizard screen and not the buttons of your browser and you should not close your browser window.

With the CV Web Page design wizard you can produce a web page designating all the expected information to appear in a CV like, besides personal detail, education, job experience, foreign languages, computer expertise, hobbies, professional references.

With the Personal Web Page design wizard you can prepare a web page, having sections and contents to your preference and also with links to your frequently visited sites or those you find useful, as well as your contact information.

Points to be careful about before starting:

• While making use of the wizard, if you click on the Back / Forward buttons of the browser or exit your browser, you will lose all the information you have entered and would have to start from the beginning and enter all the information again. Therefore, never exit your browser or use the browser buttons till you are finished with designing your web page. Use the wizard buttons ( and ) while navigating back and forward.

• While preparing your page clicking on the button at the bottom you can see the latest state of your page. A second browser page will open to display your page. After every change you make on your page, every time you click on the button, the view on the second web page will change and display the changes you have made on your web page. If you close down the second page, click on the button to access the second page again. However, never close the page the wizard is displayed on (with some browsers the changes made can not be directly transferred on the second page. In such cases, exit the second page and retrieve it again by clicking on the button and the changes can be observed.)

• When designing the web page it is not necessary for all the sections or fields to be filled out. Nevertheless, you are advised to make the indicated settings at the header image and the page layout sections to get a reasonable appearance of the page.

• While using the wizard, you can change any information you have entered by clicking on the back page arrow () and going back to the last page by the forward arrow (), after making the change.

• In order to make use of the wizard, the "Flash player" software has to be installed in your computer. Flash player can be downloaded from the page, http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/.
