I. UNDERGRADUATE and GRADUATE PROGRAMS Warning messages: The registration program will check whether each student's status is compatible with some certain regulations and it will display some warning messages to the students. We recommend our students to read these messages carefully and act in accordance with them during registration. Course criteria: The courses that will be loaded automatically for the student for that semester and/or the courses that will be added by the students themselves will be opened based on the criteria determined by the department users (such criteria can be: the department that will offer the course, the year, the surname, etc.) The courses that were not passed with a satisfactory grade From among the courses that were not passed with a satisfactory grade, in which the students have taken FF, FD, NA, W, U grades, the must ones and the ones that will be offered that semester will automatically be loaded on to the student by the system and the course replacements will be done. In such cases that require the student to drop a course, the right to drop it will be provided. If, in case, such courses are not automatically loaded onto the student for such reasons as not to exceed the quota limits of a course etc., a warning message will be displayed by the system. Then, the students are to add these courses by themselves and do replacement. No warning messsages will be displayed for such courses that are classified as electives. Then, the students are to add these courses by themselves and do replacement. The courses that fall under the category mentioned in this section and that will not be offered in the semester will be reminded to the student with a warning message.
Must Courses: The must courses that the students should take will automatically be loaded to that acedemic semester of the students. In such cases that require the student to drop a course, the right to drop it will be provided. The must courses: The courses that the student must take obligatorily from among the courses offered in the fall semester/The courses that the student was to take in the previous semesters, but for some reason did not take. Elective courses: Elective courses will be able to be taken as free elective, as NI, or in the category specified by the department concerned. The list of the courses that are accepted as "non-technical elective" by the Faculty of Engineering can be found on the following WEB page of the Faculty: http://www.eng.metu.edu.tr/pages/geninfo/nte/ntemain.htmlThe students of the departments of the Engineering Faculty can select their "non-technical elective courses" only from the courses available in this list. The students of the departments of the Engineering Faculty cannot take (or replace with) the courses, which are different than those courses listed on this web page, as "nontechnical elective".
Thesis advisor: Master's and doctoral students who are in their third or later semesters and whose thesis advisors were not appointed, will not be able login to the registration program. Undergraduate courses: According to the regulations, students of master's programs with thesis (program = 62) can take maximum two undergraduate courses in the first four semesters. According to the regulations, students of masters programs without thesis and secondary master's programs without thesis (programs = 63 and 93) can take maximum three undergraduate courses. Doctoral students (program = 72), can not take any undergraduate course unless its category is 'NI'. Additional courses: Master's and doctoral students, who are studying at a program with thesis and who are doing their thesis work, can take credit courses only in NI status after the fifth semester and later. The courses that will be automatically added for the Graduate Students After the third semester and later, the Seminar Course will be automatically added for the master's students who are studying at a program with thesis, and after fifth semester and later the Term Project Course will be automatically added for the master's students who are studying at a non-thesis program and for the master's students studying at a non-thesis secondary graduate program. The 'Thesis Studies' course and other Thesis Courses will be automatically added for the master's and doctoral students (who are studying at a program with thesis) after their advisor are appointed. The controlling tasks of the non-thesis secondary graduate programs: The payments of the students for the non-thesis secondary graduate programs will be calculated per credit. The amount calculated with regard to the program that designates the fee for every credit course that the student takes will be checked by the system. This controlling task will not be conducted for the non-credit courses. |
